Did you know that men can get turned off just from certain conversation topics? Are you aware of the danger areas to avoid? When things are going along well, have you ever had a guy suddenly close up emotionally? Perhaps you have never really learned the topics that should always be avoided. There are several discussions that will get your guy turned off and leave you on the road to heartbreak.
Weddings
Your future desires of being a wife and mother are natural and you may be surprised to know that most men are already aware of how you feel on this subject. You don't need to bring it up to your guy; but rather let him introduce the topic once he's fallen in love and can see a future with you. Only when you can no longer continue on as just a girlfriend, and feel that discussing marriage is essential to your future happiness, should you introduce the subject. Be diligent to do it gingerly and without pressure.
Comparisons to Past Boyfriends
This topic is a land mine waiting to explode. Think about how you would feel if your guy told you his ex was a fantastic cook and also a swimsuit model. Inadequate, threatened, and second-best are some of the feelings that might pass through your mind. So don't do that to him and cause your man to get turned off by your ridiculous comparisons.
This includes talking about a past boyfriend's career successes, intelligence, and physical condition, just to name a few examples. Why would your guy want to stay with you when he feels like you are admiring your former boyfriend? Every guy in a relationship wants to be #1 in his girl's eyes.
Material Possessions You Desire
Always talking about money and possessions will leave any guy feeling extremely uncomfortable. You will seem demanding, spoiled, and high-maintenance, which is an automatic turn-off. Since a guy feels ultimately responsible to provide for you whether you work or not, the wheels will automatically start turning in his head and he will foresee an expensive future with you where you are never content.
And the common thread in all of these topics is just that...contentment. Whether you are bringing up a future wedding, or a past boyfriend, or something you want him to buy for you; in all of these situations you are expressing your dissatisfaction with the current situation. Learn to enjoy the moment and live in the present.
By avoiding these pitfalls, you will be able to keep your guy from getting turned off.
